Buongiorno a tutti,
con l'uscita della prima traduzione italiana della famosa Collins, la sua versione inglese (un tempo indispensabile) è passata certamente in secondo piano nelle priorità degli acquisti dei berduoccer italiani.

Nonostante questo, so di parecchie persone (per le quali l'inglese non è un ostacolo insormontabile) che hanno deciso di aggiornarsi alla seconda edizione in inglese. A questo proposito, ripropongo anche qui un elenco delle modifiche, correzioni e integrazioni che la seconda edizione ha avuto questa primavera: sì, perchè, sebbene la notizia sia scivolata via senza clamore, la nuova Collins ha subito una notevole revisione (nell'apparato testuale ma anche con l'inclusione di nuove tavole e di alcune nuove specie, come la Sterpazzolina di Moltoni), confluita in un aggiornamento (che non ha toccato però la versione in grande formato).

Da rilevare come questo aggiornamento non sia per nulla riconoscibile a prima vista: il numero ISBN è rimasto lo stesso, la copertina anteriore è identica, il colophon non ne fa alcuna menzione (il lavoro viene citato come "2nd revised and enlarged edition 2009); l'unico modo a me noto è quello di trovare nell'ultima di copertina, in basso a fianco del codice a barre la seguente dicitura: "Winner FutureBook Non-fiction App 2014 ".

Spero che questa informazione possa essere utile a chi è in procinto di acquistare questa preziosa guida.
